A TOAST TO 2017

So let’s be real, a Friday night spent dancing, socializing, and sipping champagne is not uncommon for us Felicity girls. But on Friday, January 20th, Felicity Magazine joined efforts with Kay Lain Public Relations to host a New Year’s celebration that put our typical weekend shenanigans to good use. This time we set out to party with a purpose. That purpose being to give back to an organization near and dear to our hearts.
Boys Hope Girls Hope of Greater New Orleans is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a stable and beneficial environment for young boys and girls through family-like housing, academic opportunities, and constructive extra curricular activities. Having been introduced to the BHGH junior board by Katy Sandusky, founder and CEO of Kay Lain PR, as well as a Felicity contributor and close friend, made the decision to give back to this group a no-brainer and our partnership, a match made in heaven. While there was definitely an air of excitement as we spent weeks promoting the big event, only one question seemed to overwhelm the minds of our attendees, “What’s the dress code?”
Well, it’s safe to say everyone had their own interpretation of this “dress code.” While the fashions ranged from suits, to fitted dresses, to t-shirts and jeans, it was nothing short of an amazing night. The incredibly talented Derrick Mushatt (DJ Magic Mushatt) set the tone as one of our favorite downtown venues, Gravier Street Social, played scene to a dynamic and versatile group of friends, co-workers, and young professionals, all coming together with one goal. And, I’m proud to report that we exceeded that goal! A big thank you to everyone who attended as well as helped make this night a huge success!
